Lemon Balm with Easter Eggs. Artistic! |
And yesterday, I couldn't help myself. I had to go pick up some medicine for Sophie, and with a gift card I still had for Home Depot, went the three blocks from the vet to the store. It seems they were having a sale! Yikes! How's a faux gardener supposed to resist?
I got some of the good dirt, that was dirt cheap, ha ha! And well, got a few plants, since they were on sale, too. And then spent the afternoon getting them settled (at least for now).
So up there was my second attempt at lemon balm. I'm not saying the yard people stole the last one, BUT...
It was in a freshly cleared spot in the front bed *and* had the tag next to it. I left for work in the morning and it was there. Came home in the afternoon, the yard people had been there - and there was *no sign* of my lemon balm.
Still paid too much for it, but there it is. And it's even more clear that it's not a weed, per se, haha!
These are just a few of *many*. Trust me... |
Here is another tub with a zucchini plant in one corner and a watermelon plant in the other. I also planted bell pepper seeds from some of the peppers I've gotten in the past.
Finally - what I think is a mango tree. My mom and I put it in a pot a couple years ago, sort of suspecting but not knowing. The poor thing was one bit root ball by the time I tried to get it out of the pot - almost no dirt at all (except the part where the mother-in-law tongue was growing in it, lol). But considering how little it's survived on to this point, I'm hoping it will survive in the ground. Time will tell, as always.
No rest for the weary, either. Still have more laundry to get to, as well as changing the bed. *sigh*.
Hope everyone's weekend was as productive as mine!
:)
