Happy Easter - With Postcards!

Happy Easter, All!

Yesterday was busy anyway, and so I figured that instead of pushing it with Postcard Saturday, this time I would deliberately put Easter postcards - on Easter! So next week I'll be back to Post Card Saturday.

Hope your day has been good, however. And as promised, two more Easter postcards. These aren't all of them, but let's hope I"m still doing this in a year and can post the rest next year. Ha ha!

So Postcard 1 is more religious in theme (picture) than 2:

According to the postmark, this was mailed in 1912. And the address is literally just a name, a city, and a state. Gotta wonder if it actually got there, lol.

The messages, as far as I can make out (remember - this is in pencil so some of it is sort of smudgy):

Dear friend:
I hope you are well by this time and are happy in being sweet sixteen there few weeks yet. I am sorry you are not coming this summer. Mrs. M called me up last night on the phone to ask if I had any old clothes for Aggie (?).
     Give my love to Roscoe.

There's no name on this, so presumably the person it's addressed to would know who sent them this card, lol.

Postcard 2 is also Easter, of course, though the picture is more spring. The message is religious.

There is no postmark on it, just a name on the correspondence side.

And the messages seems to be an invitation, making me wonder if these were just hand delivered. As best as I can make out it says:

You are invited to attend the 19 anniversary exercises at Lincoln School on Fri eve Apr 6, 1928 at 7:15

No idea what sort of exercises these could be, but hey - that was a long time ago. Maybe graduation? The card is handwritten, so it could be anything, I guess.

Anyway - hope you're having a great day whether you celebrate Easter or not. And hope you enjoyed the postcards!

:)
