Post Card... Sunday

So on Friday I decided that it just wasn't happening, and that I was going to change Postcard Friday to Postcard Saturday. Then yesterday I just got busy, busy, busy, and well... here we are. I'm going to aim for Saturdays, but if it ends up Sundays, I guess it ends up Sundays, lol.

To make up for it - TWO postcards this week! They are especially applicable now because there were a handful of Easter postcards in the second batch that my student gave me. So I'll do two this week and two next week.

Both of these were mailed in 1910. Yep, that long ago!

Here's the front of the first one:

Here's the back. These are really bad pictures, I know, but I can't seem to find a good spot to take them, lol. The back of this one is super hard to read anyway.

The best I can make out, this is what it says:

3-26-1910 Norfolk, VA
Hello Lizzie. I will write a letter next week. I hope you are all well. We are well. Dad has been working all week. Amy (?) will be here on Wed morning. I had a nice time up at  - Sarah came home on Wed. Love to you all from us all. Your (unreadable word) Mother

And the postmark.

For the second post card, hit "Read More"!

Here's the front of it.

Here's the postmark. At one point there had to be a stamp, of course, but I love to see what it says about the postage, lol. Two whole cents to send a postcard to a foreign country!

And then the message. Again, not a good picture, but both of these are written in pencil, for one, and have faded with time, as well.

Dear Grandma
I wish you a joyful Easter.
From Blare Robb (this is also written on the front of the card)

So there you have it - Postcards of the week! More Easter ones next week, too.

:)
