One of the foods I made for Thanksgiving was an Apple Pie. Pumpkin is good, but more than a piece doesn't always appeal. But apple pie... Yum! I decided to try one out. Here's the recipe I used. I've had it forever, and apparently got it from a Reader's Digest, but never made it. I think it was the cheddar cheese crust that got me, lol. (Anyone who knows me knows I'm a pretty cheesy person, haha!)

A little dough, anyone? |
Once the pie was assembled, I noticed there was a little extra...

And why let pie filling go to waste? |
So what to do? Why, make apple tarts, of course!
Here they are before the oven...
And after. They were Yum!
But of course, the Pièce de résistance!
I'll be honest, I was pretty impressed with how it turned out. But as my Granny used to say, "Huh. Looks like a picture. Let's hope it doesn't taste like one." The true test came - when people at it, and liked it. Success!
More tomorrow on other awesome stuff from Mom's visit.
