There are a couple of bright spots in among the garden contingent.
One might truly always be basil.
If you don't remember, it used to look awful - but it kept growing! ( http://hoemsteadwannabe.blogspot.com/2013/11/halloween-might-be-over.html ) My mother kindly re-potted it and it started growing.
And growing. And growing...
Here's another escapee.
I've heard tales of such a phenomena from other people who grow basil in South Florida, so I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth here. Just enjoy fresh basil on anything I can think it would be good on (suggestions?). And one of these days, really, I'm going to chop it up, add a little olive oil (I can't eat garlic, more's the pity) and freeze it. Just in case it stops growing... Just in case.

What can I say? These tomato plants have tons of tomatoes on them. Three got ripe on Henrietta, so I'm feeling encouraged. I will freely admit, however, that I haven't done right by either Audrey or Seymour. They needed staking weeks ago. And well, no stakes, so they've gone a bit wild.
Here's Audrey. I counted 49 little tomatoes on her yesterday. *49*!! Some might be getting bigger!
And here's Seymour - again, dozens of little tomatoes, a couple of which looked like they might be getting ripe. Hey, better late than never, right?
George, Ruby, and Goldie all have tomatoes, too, and there's the slightest possibility those tomatoes are getting bigger, too. So maybe... Just... maybe.
