The "Garden" Is Planted

Repeat - The "Garden" is Planted!

That's right - my experimental, no-dig garden is done. Or as much as can be done for now. If it is at all successful, I will definitely expand. But here are the pics for my progress:

1. The Foundation (ha ha!)

The building blocks - literally and figuratively, ha!

2. Actual "building"! (Or um, you know, assembly, lol)

3. Preparation for Planting

My holes for drainage - muy importante!

Oooo - Colorful!

And ta da! The Finished Product...

Okay, so I bought an overpriced Rosemary - Sue me
My poor green bean plants - at least the ones that survived.

All the squash!

So I know the squash is way too close together. But I figure that half or more of it won't survive, and then it'll be good to go, right?  :D  Also, the poor beans... some of them look a little more chipper than they were doing, so keep your fingers crossed there.

And as you see - there is still loads of room on my platform for more tubs of dirt, if I decide I want to plant more stuff.

Brilliant! I'm on my way to my first growing season as a Homesteader Wannabe.

:)

  1. A lot of back-breaking labor went into this. I've got the broken back to prove it.
